Going to be Around But Have No Spring Break Plans??

<--- If you will not be seeing any of these over the Spring Break week... Here are some different activities you can partake in to help the week go by a little quicker if you are staying around Bloomington!

ONE OPPORTUNITY!

Girls Inc. will be running a Spring Break day camp for our members Monday March 16th through Friday March 20th. We are from 7:30am-6pm.

Volunteers are needed to supervise girls and help with activities. Activities may include games, art projects, and field trips in the Bloomington Community. If you are interested, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can ensure adequate supervision for our program. We welcome volunteers from IU and the Bloomington Community. This is a great opportunity for students who need volunteer hours for classes but are too busy to volunteer during the semester.

There will be a short orientation for volunteers the week before Spring Break. Volunteers are required to fill out a criminal history background check. All volunteers at Girls Inc. should share our dedication to providing new experiences and building confidence in girls. No prior experience working with children is necessary.

When: Mar 16, 17, 18 7:30 AM - 06:00 PM

ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY!

The Monroe County YMCA SPLASH program Morning & Afternoon Shifts Available!

The YMCA SPLASH program is a free class available to non-swimmers between the ages of 6-10. The goal is to help them be safe in and around water. YMCA Staff will lead the class and volunteers assist the kids with the skills in the water.

SPLASH is held Monday - Thursday during Spring Break. There is a morning session (8:45-10:45am) and an evening session (4:45-6:45pm).

Volunteers must fill out a Volunteer Application prior to volunteering. Volunteers should feel comfortable in the water.

Hurricane Ike Relief Alternative Break

It is clear that recovery from the devastation caused by Hurricane Ike will be long and difficult for many affected families. CC International is organizing and deploying volunteers to provide support to the recovery effort. They will be taking up to 100 volunteers per week beginning in November and ending in May of 2009. These can be trips taken for Thanksgiving, Winter, or Spring breaks.
