Volunteer at Monroe County Public Library!!

The library is looking for enthusiastic individuals to volunteer weekly in the Learn and Play Space (formerly, the Preschool Exploration Center) in the Children’s Services Department. The LAP Space is open to children from birth to age 7 with an adult caregiver. Volunteers will facilitate the "Learning through Play" program which promotes language acquisition and early literacy skills through entertaining activities and learning centers including a writing center, kitchen area, store area, block play, letter wall, infant area, and a puppet theater. Volunteers must be 19 or older, like to be around young children, tolerant of some mess and noise, and able to communicate with young children and their parents. A one hour orientation is required prior to volunteering.
