CATS is a program of the Monroe County Public Library and the Cats Diversity Project Steering Committee is looking for you! You can be trained to use the video equipment, contribute topics or appear on-air in various capacities.

Children's Expo - Feb. 12, 13
Volunteer for the Children's Expo and Health Fair, themed "Healthy Hearts and Valentines". Volunteers assist in a variety of ways, making the event run smoothly. The Expo features free health screenings for sweethearts ages 5 years and under, which ensure that children are ready to begin school with no barriers to learning. Screenings in speech, dental, hearing, vision, development, lead and scoliosis are offered by qualified professionals. Visitors explore interactive booths, listen to live entertainment, and peruse exhibitor booths. Minimum age is 18.
URGENT NEED - More Volleyball Coaches Needed!
Help! The Girls Inc. volleyball season is about to begin and they have four unexpected vacancies. If you have considered coaching or are intrigued by the opportunity . . . this is your chance to coach! Coaches should have interest and some experience with volleyball, and a passion for empowering girls and creating fun, meaningful experiences! Coaches commit to volunteer two evenings/week, Monday through Thursday. Minimum age is 18.
Board Members - Theatre of The People (TOP)
Bloomington's newest non-profit community theatre is seeking volunteers to join their Board of Directors. Interested community members will contribute to TOP's short and long-term development as well as ensuring successful social service programming in the area of inclusive arts and education. Skills in business/non-profit management, arts administration, finance, law, marketing, public relations, fundraising/grant writing, counseling, or special event promotion are preferred, although no experience is necessary. Board members commit to a two to three year term. Interested persons are asked to complete an application, then to meet with the Co-Artistic Directors and Board President.
Organize Spring Luncheon
The "Spring Into Action!" luncheon and silent auction is Monroe County United Ministries largest special event fundraiser. They need enthusiastic volunteers to serve on the organizing committee. The luncheon will be held on Sunday, April 25th, with proceeds supporting their affordable childcare and basic needs assistance services. Committee members meet monthly and work independently, planning event logistics, soliciting silent auction items, selling tickets and promoting the event. Minimum age is 18.

RSVP America Reads Tutors
One out of four children entering fourth grade cannot read at grade level. Help change this statistic and prepare students for lasting success in schools and libraries throughout Monroe and Owen Counties. Through RSVP America Reads, the tutoring program of the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), volunteers commit to tutor one hour per week. Substitutes are available as needed. All training is provided and no experience is necessary. Your life will be positively changed as well! Minimum age is 21.
WFHB Production, Programming & Engineering
Music, news, information programming and engineering are among the ways you can become the media through WFHB Community Radio. Substitute as a DJ, write local news, record news events in the field, or work on the web page! Once you have given more than 30 hours of your time, you become a "Participating Member" with voting privileges. A commitment of at least 4 hours per month is requested. Training provided; minimum age is 18.
Arlington Elementary Playground Volunteers
Arlington Heights Elementary School invites community members to actively engage their children on the playground between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. While staff will be present, volunteers will initiate soccer, Frisbie, basketball, parachute play or other games. Requirements are enthusiasm and love for children, knowledge of a variety of outdoor games, and leadership skills. Teens welcome.

Girls Inc. of Monroe County needs volleyball coaches for the spring season. This recreational league focuses on building fundamentals, improving social skills and having fun. Coaches should be enthusiastic about creating a positive and supportive environment. Practices are from 6-7 p.m. or from 7-8 p.m, either Mon./Wed. or Tues./Thurs., with no more than 2 nights of activity per week on week nights from mid-January until mid-April. Age groups are 6-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-18. Coaches should have experience playing or coaching volleyball and be comfortable working with parents and staff. Coaches must be 18 years old and attend a coaching orientation on either Dec. 15 or Jan. 12 (alternative arrangements can be made).

Music Outreach
Early Music in Motion seeks volunteers to assist with fundraising and project administration. Experience is helpful but not necessary. This Bloomington based non profit organization exposes under-served children and communities in Indiana to 16th through 18th century music in order to cultivate emotional intelligence and heighten their sense of beauty, order and healthy social interactions. Volunteers are needed at the John Waldron Arts Center Gallery Shop for the Bloomington Area Arts Council. This is a great opportunity to gain businessexperience working in a not-for-profit and a great way to gain skills ingallery and exhibition management. As a volunteer there is the opportunityto earn FREE TICKETS to performance, musical and art events.
General duties: General shop and office management, running sales, answeringthe phone, several opportunities to assist in installation of exhibitions,and work at opening receptions
Times needed: Anytime from Monday-Friday 11-5 or Saturday 11-3. Volunteerscan do bi-weekly shifts or weekly shifts as their schedule provides. Weprefer a commitment around 2-5 hours per week, but are flexible!
Opportunities: Through the volunteer system here, volunteers have theopportunity to earn FREE TICKETS to performance events, musical events andart events.
